Muah Chee (Mochi) | Peanut & Black Sesame
A must have snack in Malaysia Pasar Malam (Night Market), It's soft and chewy, coated in peanut or black sesame.
Put roasted peanuts and 40g sugar into the Thermomix mixing bowl blend for 10 seconds | speed 6. Reserve the peanut on a large plate.
Put black sesame and 20g sugar into the Thermomix mixing bowl blend for 10 seconds | speed 10. Reserve the black sesame on another large plate.
Clean the mixing bowl, add 180g water, glutinous rice flour, tapioca flour and cooking oil mix 1 minute | speed 6. Meanwhile, prepare a steaming dish and grease it with oil and place it inside Varoma dish.
Add 500 g of water to the mixing bowl. Place Varoma dish into position. Pour batter into steaming dish. Steam for 15 minutes | Varoma | Speed 2.
Remove the steamed muah chee from the varoma dish (discard the water on top of muah chee *if any*) let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
Then transfer half of the muah chee (mochi) into the large plate with reserved peanut and another half into the large plate with reserved black sesame. Cut it into bite-size pieces using dough scraper / scissors and toss them with peanut sugar mixture and black sesame mixture respectively. Best to consume while it's warm. Enjoy!
